digital nugget Wikipedia style
Wikipedia is taking over the web and soon print. Possibly DVDs, and CDs as well. Print Wiki I wonder if this may make it more acceptable in some professor's eyes as a valid resource for research. Because yes Piotr, some professor frown upon it's use.

Wikipedia 1.0 is a nifty project, and it will be a great day when we finally get it up and running :) You rise an interesting point - if it is printed, will it gain more respect?
Pritned Wiki will always be smaller then online (800,000 pages - can you imagine how many tomes it would have to be?). It would be ironic if some people will consider the 'smaller wiki' better just because it would be on paper.
Then, of course, life runs on irony :)

My Reference Services and Sources professor started a huge arguement about whether or not Wikipedia would be a good source to give a patron for information. Her main problem was the fact that anyone can post anything, and who is to say whether it is correct or not. If Wikipedia goes to print then surely someone will be editing it and I doubt they would print false information, so it might just change people's minds about it being a valid research source.

Having a print wiki will legitimize this information as being accurate for there will be some sort of formal editing process before it goes to the printers.
